Battledome Equipment
Your pet can equip 8 items to ready itself for a battledome fight and each round of the fight you can use 2 of them. These items will make the difference between winning the fight and losing it. The cost of these items ranges from just a couple neopoints to millions. Some items are good, some are not worth their price.
Most people just call BD equipment weapons, but I think that's a bit of a missnomer. Not all BD items are weapons. After all, shields aren't really weapons, are they? There is a wide variety of the different things BD equipment can do. They can attack, defend, heal your pet, stop your opponent from moving for a whole round, reflect your opponent's attack back at them or even stop all damage done to you. And some have even more bizzare effects like turning your opponent into a yellow chia. Most equipment can be used over and over again. Some equipment can only be used once in a battle. Some dissapear forever when they're used. Some weapns can only be used by one species of pets. With all these different items, it's not easy choosing what to get.
Weapons that attack or defend use what are called icons. There are 7 different icons: 
. Each icon is a unit of damage. A weapon that does 10 icons will do twice as much damage as a weapon that does 5 icons. Therefore, the more icons a weapon does, the better it is and consequntly, the rarer and more expensive it will likely be.
Once you've decided what weapons to use, equip them to your pet by clicking on it in your inventory and select equip (pet name). Then, you can see what your pet has equipped by going to the battledome or your quick ref page and clicking on equipment. To unequip an item from your pet, go to the equipment page and click on the item you want to unequip. It will then go to your inventory.
